Did Waleed Aly Undergo a Hair Transplant? Host Drops Major Hint on The Project

by Madonna

Australian TV host Waleed Aly has sparked speculation that he may have undergone a hair transplant, following a subtle comment made during a recent episode of The Project. The 46-year-old, who has been a co-host on Channel 10’s popular program for over a decade, dropped the hint while discussing the rising trend of Australian men traveling to Turkey for hair transplants.

On Tuesday’s show, Aly, along with co-hosts Sarah Harris, Sam Taunton, and Kate Langbroek, talked about the increasing number of Australian men opting for the procedure, which involves moving healthy hair follicles from one part of the scalp to another. The procedure is significantly cheaper in Turkey, where the country has seen a 70 percent increase in demand from Australian men. Additionally, many clinics offer attractive packages that include hotel stays, airport transfers, and perks designed to make clients feel “like a king.”

In response to the growing trend, the panel discussed how balding is a common concern among men. Langbroek remarked, “I just think it’s underestimated for men if they lose their hair,” pointing out that Waleed and Sam were among those who had not experienced hair loss.

However, it was Waleed’s offhand comment that raised eyebrows. When discussing the popularity of hair transplants in Turkey, he said, “All I’ll say is this, Istanbul is one of my favourite cities in the world.” The remark, delivered with no further explanation, sparked immediate curiosity, as it seemed to suggest that Waleed may have undergone the procedure himself.

Although Waleed did not clarify or expand on the comment before the commercial break, the implication drew attention to his hairline, which has remained notably thick and consistent over the years. His hair, often described as thick and healthy, appears much the same as it did two decades ago.

In addition to the hair transplant speculation, Waleed made headlines earlier this year when he appeared in a controversial comedy skit on The Project with fellow comedian Sam Taunton. The pair were seen in an awkward “bath scene” that left co-host Sarah Harris visibly mortified. The skit, however, turned out to be a deep fake video created using artificial intelligence, a segment that had Sarah commenting, “I vomited in my mouth a little bit” after watching the playback.

The AI-generated segment was part of a report covering a deep fake video of former U.S. President Donald Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk. In the clip, the two were shown in a bizarre and uncomfortable scenario, which Sam Taunton humorously referenced during the segment, joking about the awkwardness of the moment.

Despite the intrigue surrounding Waleed’s hair, it remains unconfirmed whether he has indeed had a hair transplant, leaving fans and viewers speculating about his comment and the consistency of his hair over the years.
