CARDIFF, UK — In what is being hailed as a world first, HQ Hair Transplants in Cardiff is set to perform a simultaneous hair transplant on three identical siblings — the Gregory Triplets — marking a milestone moment in the cosmetic surgery field.
Julian, Eliot, and Ryan Gregory, now 40, rose to prominence as children thanks to their striking identical looks and early television appearances. Originally from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, the trio made local history in July 1984 as the first set of triplets born at Withybush General Hospital.
Though they spent only a year in Wales before relocating to England’s south coast, the Gregorys grew up in the public eye. Raised by a single mother, the brothers supported the household through work in modelling and television, their identical appearances making them a producer’s dream before the age of CGI. The triplets were cast in a variety of roles throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, appearing in shows such as Teachers, MI High, and Kerching, and even sharing the screen with a young Keira Knightley in the film Innocent Lies.
At 23, the brothers stepped back from acting to pursue careers off-camera. Today, they work across public relations, recruitment, and probate genealogy — a profession that led Ryan Gregory back to television as a recurring contributor on the BBC’s Heir Hunters. Julian and Ryan remain based in London, while Eliot now lives in Valencia, Spain.
The trio, once virtually indistinguishable, have each developed their own personal style over the years. But their upcoming hair restoration surgery may have them looking more alike than they have in decades.
The procedure will be performed at HQ Hair Transplants, a Cardiff-based clinic owned and operated by former New Zealand All Blacks and Cardiff Blues captain Xavier Rush. The clinic has been in operation for five years and has treated a range of high-profile clients — including Married at First Sight star Ella Morgan, who now also works at the clinic.
While hair transplants have become a common cosmetic procedure, especially among men in the public eye, the upcoming operation marks a unique chapter in its evolution. The Gregory Triplets’ transplant is believed to be the first simultaneous procedure performed on a set of identical triplets — a rare combination of medical precision and personal narrative that continues the brothers’ lifelong connection to the spotlight.
The procedure aims not only to restore hair but to capture a bit of the triplets’ shared identity, which, as they enter their 40s, seems to be coming full circle — this time, under the lights of a surgical theatre instead of a studio.
