Married At First Sight star Stephen Nolson has raised eyebrows and concern among fans after sharing startling photos of his swollen face following a recent hair transplant procedure.
The 33-year-old, who appeared on the 2024 season of the Channel 4 reality dating series, posted the update to his 24.2K Instagram followers as part of a fan Q&A. In response to a question asking to see swelling at its worst, Nolson uploaded a selfie revealing significant facial puffiness, particularly around the cheeks.
“Swelling basically gone down now. Bit on the cheeks still,” he captioned the image, reassuring followers that he was on the mend. Nolson travelled to Turkey for the cosmetic procedure and has been documenting his hair restoration journey in detail.
The Berkshire native made his reality TV debut as an ‘intruder groom’ on MAFS UK, where he was paired with bride Hannah Norburn. While their relationship initially showed promise, with a romantic honeymoon and moments of chemistry, tensions quickly escalated. A series of heated arguments and allegations of infidelity ultimately led to their split.
Nolson did not attend the show’s reunion special, a decision that sparked further drama. Hannah, also 33, used social media to publicly criticise her ex-partner for both his behaviour during the experiment and his failure to support her in the face of group confrontations at the reunion.
In an Instagram post following the reunion episode, she wrote: “The way that man treated me—spoke to my face and behind my back—was something I’ve never experienced before… I dodged a bullet big time.”
Hannah accused Nolson of letting her be “ganged up on” during the emotionally charged reunion and expressed frustration over what she described as his “stubbornness and self-entitlement,” stating she had “no respect” for him.
Despite their rocky relationship, Hannah appeared to find some resolution during the reunion, making peace with other castmates she had previously clashed with. Reflecting on her time on the show, she called the overall experience “a misery,” with the exception of the initial honeymoon period.
As Nolson continues to recover from his transplant, the former couple’s brief but turbulent stint on MAFS remains a topic of conversation among fans of the franchise.
