HARE, an innovative hair studio brand based in Oxfordshire, has been named a finalist in four major hairdressing industry awards this year, marking a significant achievement for the rapidly growing business.
Founded by brothers James and George Talbot, HARE operates salons in Eynsham, Witney, and Woodstock. The studio has earned shortlist spots across multiple categories, including Best Business Leader for James Talbot at the Modern Barber Awards and Salon of the Year at the Hair Pro Awards.
Additionally, HARE is competing in two categories at the Hair and Beauty Awards: Best Business Branding and Barber Shop of the Year.
James Talbot expressed his gratitude, saying, “It’s a massive honour to be recognised for our passion, skill and dedication, which we couldn’t do without the support of our awesome team, clients and supporters who make HARE the creative, community-driven hub it is today.”
Gender-Fair Pricing and Client-Focused Service
HARE’s unique unisex pricing model ensures clients pay only for the services they need, eliminating unnecessary extras often found in traditional salons. James explained, “Women were paying a premium for a service that, technically, is often easier than gents’ barbering. We saw an opportunity for affordable, efficient hairdressing without the unnecessary fluff.”
This approach caters to busy lifestyles by offering flexible, personal hair services—whether it’s a quick trim or a full wash and style. “Our transparent pricing model has been really well received with our growing customer base as a refreshing antidote to the industry standard,” James added.
Commitment to Sustainability and Community
HARE is also committed to environmental responsibility through a partnership with the Green Salon Collective, achieving zero-to-landfill salon recycling, including repurposing hair waste for oil spill clean-ups and composting.
The business has donated over £15,000 to local charities and sponsors the Witney Rugby Angels. It has a history of supporting local creative events, such as Oxford Fashion Week, continually innovating and inspiring within the Oxfordshire community.
James emphasized, “HARE is more than just about hair. We’re a family of talented pros who love to create, share, and care by supporting local charities and clubs in our community.”
With fresh summer collections inspired by James’s travels to Mexico and Sri Lanka, HARE looks forward to styling clients with new, creative looks.
